Current Projects
I’m currently working on a handful of writing projects, each with a different time horizon for completion:
A poetry collection about the effects of incarceration on families.
A collection of short stories set in a fictional town in Louisiana in the early 21st century.
A novel that focuses on multiple generations of two families whose lives span continents—and intersect at a few pivotal moments over the course of many decades.
When do I write? Because my weeks are full—with university partnership work and the return to being a student—my creative writing occurs during intentional times. I don’t write creatively every day, though I write regularly for work and school. What keeps me moving is a habit: one evening each week set aside for writing, currently Tuesday, and one Saturday morning each month for the administrative work that keeps the rest of it possible.
